Meet our staff... Camp Director: Jim Romeo
Coach Romeo was the Head Coach of the Spartans for 3 seasons. He inherited a team that went 11 - 25 and in only 3 years, reversed the team's fortunes to lead his team to an impressive 25 - 11 record and captured the CACC Title, the School's first since 1986. Along the way, the Spartans were the #2 Ranked NAIA Team in the Northeast! The school's highest ranking ever. The team received an at-large bid to the NAIA Northeast Regional Tournament but lost 4 games shy of the NAIA College World Series. Shortly after leading the Spartans to their best playoff finish in the last 12 years and being named CACC Coach of the Year as well as being recognized as the Coach of the Year by Louisville Slugger, Coach Romeo decided to turn his attention to running the Spartans Sports Camp on a full time basis. Phil is considered one of the top coaches in the NY / NJ Metropolitan Area. Phil has been with Metropolitan Sports Camp from the beginning and is an intrical part of the camp's success. Phil has turned Nanuet HS into one of the top HS programs in Rockland County. Phil has sent numerous players onto the college ranks! In addition to his baseball duties, Phil is also an Assistant Football and Basketball.. Coach: Carlos Fidalgo
Carlos has been with us for the past 10 years and runs our High School group in camp. Coach: Shannon Massey-Thyberg (Softball Windmill Pitching)
Coach: Joe Falcone A former standout player at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Joe was an All Conference Player who led the CACC in strikeouts. Joe also had the dinstinction of being among the best in the nation in earned run average. Joe had the 6th lowest earned run average in the Nation! Joe will teach pitching at camp this summer. Joe is a middle school teacher in Kearny, NJ. Coach: Jackie Russo (Softball) Pitching Coach Nanuet HS. Jackie runs our Softball Camp and is also an elementary school teacher in NYC. Jackie was a former All Count Player for Nanuet HS and has been with us for 10 years!

Rob is one of Bergen County's brightest young coaches. He's a member of the Bergen County Coaches Association and is also a certified school teacher in NJ.

Christine is also a certified school teacher in NJ.

Coach Donohue is our resident catching expert. A former standout player at North Carolina University and St. Thomas Aquinas College, Gregg has experience as a former professional player as well as a former college coach. Coach: Robin Payne
Robin runs the Championship Softball Academy in Closter, NJ and is a renowned pitching coach.
Coach: Matt Russo (Baseball) Head Coach of Pearl River High Schools modified baseball team. Matt is a certified school teacher is in charge of developing the Junior High School Baseball Team in Pearl River.

Coach Mac is our resident baserunning expert. Blessed with blazing speed and an outstanding overall knowledge of the game, Mac teaches the fine art of stealing. A former minor league player, Mac also teaches campers how to play all aspects of the outfield. Coach: Bill Lynch

Brad is considered one of the top players ever to come out of Rockland County, NY. Brad teaches players how to play first base in addition to teaching hitting at our camps. Coach Brad is one of the brightest young coaches in the area. Coach: Joe Costaldo
Joe is our pitching coach. He is considered one of the best athletes in Rockland County as he was a professional baseball player and an All American Basketball Player while in college. Joe can take any pitcher, regardless of their present ability level and improve their skills. In addition to his baseball coaching, Joe is also the Head Basketball Coach at Rockland Community College. Coach: John Picarillo
Coach Pic is our infield expert. An outstanding former college infielder, Pic is an expert at improving an infielder's skills. Pic teaches players all the 'secrets' of playing the infield. Coach: Artie Bencivengo
One of our most popular coaches, Artie works with the outfielders at camp. Artie is an excellent evaluator of talent and has been with us from the very beginning. Coach: Ed D'Esposito
Ed brings his catching expertise to our staff and has the ability to teach catching skills to kids of all ages and ability levels. Like Artie, Ed has been with us for the past 6 years! Coach: Ryan Cottrell Ryan was a 4 year starter at St. Thomas Aquinas College. He was an All Conference Shortstop who ended his career as one of the best players ever to play at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Coach: Steve Lechich During his senior season at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Steve was named All Conference, All Region and Honorable Mention All American. Steve had one of the greatest single seasons in the history of St. Thomas Aquinas College plating over 60 RBI's in 36 games. Coach: Joe Falcone A former standout player at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
